New logistics and office centre with innovative design and wooden structures opens in Riga

Short: The new centre, designed by TZMO Latvija Ltd, demonstrates modern construction capabilities combined with sustainable solutions and impressive architecture.

A new logistics and office centre has been opened in Riga, which stands out for its wooden structures and innovative design. The project has been carried out by TZMO Latvija, a company specialising in the manufacture and supply of hygiene products, cosmetics and medical devices. The building has become a significant addition to Riga's architecture, demonstrating modern construction capabilities and sustainable solutions.

The new downtown logistics complex and office building is not only a triumph of engineering, but also a work of art. The logistics complex, which is 18.9 metres high and covers an area of 3,226 square metres, together with a two-storey office building of 800 square metres, create a harmonious and functional environment for work and storage purposes.

The design of the building, by architect Vents Grietēns of Projektu birojs Grietēns un Kagainis, stands out for its aesthetics and functionality. He has created a unique combination of load-bearing structures, combining dynamic timber finishes and curved glazed facade panels. This approach not only enhances the visual impact of the building, but also significantly reduces its ecological footprint.

The structural solution makes extensive use of wood, a traditional and environmentally friendly building material in Latvia. During the project, 858 cubic metres of glued timber structures were manufactured by Zaza Timber Production. This once again demonstrates Latvia's mastery in this field and its ability to create architecturally complex and environmentally compliant buildings.

The new logistics and office building is an example of how modern engineering solutions can be used to create buildings that will not only be relevant today, but will also be recognised as examples of future innovation. Such a project not only reinforces Latvia's image as a centre of innovative and sustainable architecture, but also demonstrates the power of local materials and generational experience, which are becoming increasingly important in today's global construction industry.
