In a notable recognition of architectural innovation, Seara Peleteiro Arquitectos have recently been nominated as finalists in the prestigious COAG awards, thanks to their pioneering building in the town of Allariz. This house stands out not only for its avant-garde design and respect for nature, but also for the meticulous selection of the site and the careful integration into its surroundings.
Commissioned by the owners Ángel and Ana, this residence is the masterpiece of a talented team that includes Miguel, technical architect, and Juan, principal architect. This group has worked tirelessly to conceive a home that not only satisfies the aesthetic and functional needs of its residents, but also respects and blends harmoniously with the surrounding nature.
Choosing the right plot of land was a task that required months of dedication on the part of the owners. Ángel and Ana prioritized the connection with nature, looking for a place where they could build their home without altering the natural environment. Finally, upon finding the ideal location, work began with the aim of integrating the house into the local ecosystem without forcing it.
The eco-sustainable design of the house ensures that the natural views are a central element of the home. The elevated single-storey construction efficiently addresses the slope of the land without the need for drastic changes to the topography. This not only enhances the beauty of the location, but also minimizes the ecological impact.
The structure offers an incomparable living experience thanks to its three large outdoor spaces. The terraces and large windows all around the house invite the inhabitants to continually immerse themselves in the natural landscape. This design allows for exceptional panoramic views from almost anywhere in the home, linking each space with the natural environment in which it is located.
Inside, the design focuses on a triangular space that flows harmoniously, promoting a feeling of spacious and open continuity. The choice of materials also plays a crucial role; the house is built entirely of wood, a material that provides optimal thermal insulation and the ability to self-regulate internal humidity, ensuring comfort in every season.
The experience of living in this house is described by its owners as “living on a terrace all the time”, a sensation enhanced by the continuous connection with nature and the environment in which the house is located. This concept of cohesion with the environment is reflected both in its design and in its daily functionality.
The impact of the project has resonated beyond the satisfaction of the residents. It has been praised for its architectural innovation and sustainable approach, earning a place among the nominations for prominent awards in the architectural field. This house in Allariz not only represents the future of sustainable architecture, but also a testament to the art of living in harmony with nature.
