Poland seeks to limit the use of wood in energy

8 Jul 2024

The Deputy Minister of Climate of the Republic of Poland, Mikolaj Dorozala, said that the government plans to adopt a draft resolution limiting the burning of wood in the energy sector by September 2024. In an interview for Polish Radio, the vice-minister noted that this decision aims to ensure greater availability of wood on the market.

Dorozhala explained that the new regulation clearly defines the concept of "energy wood". This initiative is welcomed by entrepreneurs and public organizations, who have been waiting for such changes for a long time.

The Ministry of Climate and Environment presented the draft resolution on July 2 and has already sent it to interdepartmental consultations. Dorozhala expressed hope for a smooth process, emphasizing close cooperation with the Ministry of Development and Technologies.
