Volyn and Rivne regions strengthen forest safety by installing video surveillance at the beginning of the fire season

Short: In Volyn and Rivne regions, video surveillance is being introduced to improve forest safety, and active preparation for the fire season is underway with the integration of IT programs.

In Volyn and Rivne regions, the state-owned enterprise Forests of Ukraine is actively working to improve the security of forests by introducing video surveillance systems. This innovation has become an important step in monitoring the state of forests, especially in the spring, when the so-called fire season begins with rising temperatures.

Every year, with the onset of spring, foresters face challenges that jeopardize forest safety. This time is characterized by high temperatures, which can lead to an increase in fire incidents. In this regard, we have organized systematic visits to fire stations by responsible employees as part of comprehensive preparations.

Recently, a thematic seminar was held with the participation of chief foresters of Volyn and Rivne regions. The event was aimed at bringing together specialists to discuss topical issues and share experiences. The agenda was primarily focused on testing and improving the existing automated firefighting programs launched last year. After all, auxiliary systems are becoming increasingly important in building high-quality fire control.

In the face of current challenges, foresters emphasize the importance of being prepared for the worst-case scenarios. The risk of fires due to climate change and the current war has increased significantly. Therefore, measures that will help minimize the consequences of possible dangers are high on the agenda.

One of these measures was the introduction of a specialized IT program to improve firefighting operations. It allows for a quick response to fire threats and effective coordination of firefighting actions. The workshop participants emphasized the importance of integrating new technologies into everyday practice, as this not only increases the reliability of forest protection but also reduces the burden on human resources.

Thanks to these innovations and a systematic approach to the problem, foresters in Volyn and Rivne regions hope to keep forests intact during this difficult fire season.
