First Five-Story Wooden Frame Apartment Building Completed in Jelgava

Short: The first five-story wooden frame building in Latvia has been completed in Jelgava, marking the development of sustainable construction methods and a reduction in environmental impact.

Developer MJL Development has completed and delivered the first five-story residential building with a frame structure in Latvia. The total project cost is €13.10 million, and the building in Jelgava has become a significant example of innovation in the Latvian construction industry.

The building is being constructed using industrial-grade timber frame structures manufactured at the ReBalt Modular Systems factory in Latvia. This approach allows for significantly shorter construction times, high quality control, and a reduced carbon footprint, contributing to the development of sustainable and energy-efficient housing.

The modular structures are manufactured in closed factory halls, where the production process is unaffected by weather conditions, temperature fluctuations, or precipitation. This ensures a precise and high-quality end result while also reducing construction waste and noise levels on the construction site. This approach allows for more efficient use of resources and contributes to environmentally friendly construction.

Experts say the five-story wooden house is a significant step forward in the development of the Latvian construction industry, demonstrating the potential of modern and sustainable housing. MJL Development hopes the project will become a model for future housing developments across the country.

The project demonstrates that it is possible to implement innovative and sustainable construction technologies in Latvia, which not only reduce environmental impact but also ensure higher quality construction and comfortable living conditions for residents.
