Galiforest Abanca fair celebrates a record edition showcasing the full strength of the forestry sector from July 2 to 4

Short: Galiforest Abanca celebrates its eighth edition from July 2 to 4 in Boqueixón, with 125 exhibitors and more than 18,000 m² of surface area, consolidating itself as the largest forestry monograph in Spain.

The Feira Internacional de Galicia ABANCA will hold the eighth edition of Galiforest Abanca from July 2 to 4, the most important forestry monograph in Spain, with the support of the Xunta de Galicia. The event will take place, as in previous editions, on the grounds of the Centro de Formación y Experimentación Agraria de Sergude, in the municipality of Boqueixón, near Santiago de Compostela.

This year's edition reaches record figures: 125 direct exhibitors and more than 18,000 net square meters of exhibition space, surpassing the records of the previous edition and consolidating Galiforest Abanca as the largest forestry fair in the country. The sustained growth of the event reflects the sector's increasing support and its role as an essential benchmark for the Iberian forestry industry.

Beyond the commercial exhibition, the fair will combine a wide range of offerings aimed at professionals, students and other profiles linked to the forestry sector. As part of the event, the VIII Technological Innovation Contest will be held, recognizing machines, products, services and processes distinguished by their design, work quality and performance. This edition features 16 submitted proposals, in an initiative aimed at promoting research, development and innovation in the sector.

July 2 and 3 will also host the II Iberian Silviculture Symposium, a gathering that will bring together professionals, researchers, companies, associations, forest owners, students, administrations and policymakers. The forum's goal will be to debate and collectively build the future of the sector from the perspective of innovation and sustainable forest management.

Real-field demonstrations and practical activities

Continuous demonstrations of machinery and technology will form one of the fair's core pillars. More than 200 working exhibitions are expected, featuring equipment ranging from processors and portable sawmills to shredders, robotic brush cutters, robotic cranes and simulators. The program will also include practical demonstrations of chainsaws, aerial cutting, oil changes, floral art, vertical gardens and pollen sample preparation, as well as workshops on grafting, ecospheres and beekeeping.

The most spectacular side of the program will come from the figurism exhibitions, with chainsaw-carved wooden sculptures, and the modalities of the wood sport: vertical and horizontal log cuts, handsaw cutting, aerial cutting and prototype trials.

The choice of the Centro de Formación y Experimentación Agraria de Sergude is no coincidence. The site offers a natural environment that allows visitors to observe machinery working directly in real forest conditions, while providing suitable infrastructure and convenient access from the AP-53 highway, both for heavy vehicles and the visiting public.
