The 28th Central Swabian Timber Submission in Leipheim was once again an important event for the regional forestry industry. Almost 750 logs were laid out at this important marketplace, creating a central platform for the sale of valuable timber. The event in Leipheim is a firm fixture in the annual calendar of many players in the industry and offers the opportunity to offer and inspect high-quality timber together.
Clemens Weber, the first chairman of FBG Neu-Ulm, opened the inspection of the logs laid out and sold in Riedheim. The storage area there belongs to the Bavarian State Forests, which underlines the high standard of the event. On the administrative side, the site is managed by the Weißenhorn operation, which ensures the professional handling of the submission. The District Administrator of Günzburg also showed his interest in the results of the auction through his presence, which further underlines the importance of the event.
Although this year's offer was slightly lower than last year, the quality of the logs on offer was nevertheless higher. This reflects the generally rising quality standards in the forestry industry. The submission site in Leipheim therefore not only offers a physical marketplace, but also a platform for exchanging information on the latest trends and developments in the industry.
The participation of 46 bidders from Germany and Austria shows the cross-border interest in high-quality timber from the region. A sign of the times is the fact that more than half of the bids were submitted in digital form. This illustrates the growing trend towards digitalization in all areas, including traditional timber auctions.
A highlight of this year's submission was certainly the top price of 7,300 euros achieved for an oak log. Such top prices show the high appreciation for quality timber and the trust in the market as a trading place for exclusive timber.
