An important meeting was held in the Rivne region to discuss the future of the timber market. The event was organized by Kronospan Rivne, one of the leading companies in the woodworking industry. The main goal of the meeting was to find ways to effectively regulate the timber market, which is critical for the stable operation of woodworking enterprises in Ukraine.
The event was attended by high-ranking officials and managers of various levels. Among them were Oleksandr Kornienko, First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, and Yuriy Bolokhovets, General Director of the State Enterprise “Forests of Ukraine”. Also present were Vitaliy Bunechko, head of the Zhytomyr Regional State Administration, and MPs Oleksandr Aliksiychuk, Dmytro Natalukha, and Bohdan Kitsak. For their part, the heads of enterprises that directly face challenges in the timber market also expressed their opinions.
Oleksandr Koval, the head of Rivne region, emphasized the importance of the discussion, as often imperfect legislation does not allow woodworking companies to provide themselves with the necessary raw materials. This affects not only business but also the country's economy as a whole. The meeting participants once again emphasized that creating transparent conditions for the timber market is an urgent task.
During the meeting, various issues were discussed, including problems and possible solutions to ensure uninterrupted timber supply. The timber market in Ukraine needs not only regulation but also modernization, which will allow the industry to develop in line with international standards and practices.
The meeting became a platform for a constructive dialog between business and government. The participants agreed on further steps, including the development of a joint strategy and the initiation of legislative changes aimed at improving the situation on the timber market. This will ensure a stable supply of raw materials and support the development of the woodworking industry in Ukraine.
