Mykolaiv Region Prosecutor's Office Files a Lawsuit to Preserve the State Forest Fund and Ecosystem Security

Short: The Voznesensk District Prosecutor's Office initiated a lawsuit against the unlawful allocation of 34.7 hectares of forest land, which is important for the environmental safety of the region.

The Voznesensk District Prosecutor's Office of Mykolaiv Oblast has taken steps to protect the public interest by filing a lawsuit with the Mykolaiv Oblast Commercial Court. This is an important step aimed at preventing unlawful actions with state land that are important for the overall environmental safety of the region.

In this case, the plaintiffs are Mykolaiv Regional State Administration, which is opposed to the Main Department of the StateGeoCadastre in Mykolaiv Region and Veselynivka Village Council. The central issue of the lawsuit is the return to the state of land plots with a total area of 34.7 hectares, which are part of the state forest fund.

Upon launching the investigation, the prosecutor's office found significant irregularities in the procedure for the formation of land plots that were originally intended for agricultural purposes. These violations relate to the unlawful allocation of land from the forest fund, which is a critical setback for the conservation of natural resources.

The expert review found that the land allocation was carried out with violations that directly contradict the interests of the state in the context of environmental protection. In this light, the territory that should have remained under protection as a forest fund was transferred to management with other purposes. This may set a precedent for further illegal actions with regard to land resources.

The prosecutor's office emphasizes the need to preserve these lands as part of the forest fund to maintain the ecological balance and protect the objects of the nature reserve fund. The importance of this issue stems from the fact that the forest fund area performs critical ecosystem functions, including carbon sequestration, water balance and biodiversity refuge.

Thus, the case has all the grounds to be considered in court, as it is not only about returning the land to the state, but also about the overall strategy of preserving natural resources at the local level.
