During the New Year and Christmas period of the 2025–2026 season, the State Enterprise «Forests of Ukraine» sold 91.7 thousand Christmas trees. This information was provided in response to a request; the figures are based on data from the Unified State Electronic Accounting System.
The highest number of Christmas trees was sold by the branches of the Polissia and Central Forest Offices — 25,420 and 25,101 trees, respectively. Following them in sales volume are the Northern Forest Office (19,544 trees), Slobozhansky (7,349), Stolichny (6,743), and Podilsky (5,786).
The lowest sales were recorded in the Carpathian (1,155) and Southern (625) Forest Offices.
The enterprise noted that in most cases, there was no need to dispose of unsold Christmas trees. Minimal leftovers are attributed to harvesting based on actual demand and the ability to promptly conduct additional harvesting if demand increases.
If disposal is necessary, unsold trees are processed in environmentally friendly ways: branches are used for winter feeding of wild animals, and the wood is processed into chips — either as biofuel or mulch.
Overall, in the 2025–2026 season, «Forests of Ukraine» sold 91.7 thousand Christmas trees, with the largest volumes in the Polissia and Central Forest Offices, while leftovers, according to the enterprise, were minimal and, when necessary, processed in an environmentally friendly manner.
