The International Congress of Architecture and Construction in Wood of Egurtek will once again turn the Bilbao Exhibition Centre (BEC) into a reference meeting point on sustainable architecture. The eleventh edition of the forum, already consolidated as an unmissable event for the sector, will be held on the upcoming 28 and 29 October.
The program will bring together professionals of recognized prestige linked to the growing use of wood in the transformation of the building sector. In previous editions, Egurtek has featured prominent figures from the world architectural scene, including Pritzker Prize winners David Chipperfield and Shigeru Ban, which evidences the specific weight that this meeting has acquired on the international agenda.
In this new edition, the congress will strengthen its international dimension with content focused on the main challenges of contemporary architecture, from decarbonization to constructive innovation.
The lectures and case studies that will be presented during the two days will address projects of different scales, from housing and territorial intervention to large engineering developments in which wood assumes a leading role.
The forum will focus on wood as a strategic material to respond to current climatic and social challenges, claiming its central role in the construction of a more sustainable, efficient building model connected to the demands of the present.
