Digitalization of forestry in Ukraine: increasing transparency and efficiency of resource management

Short: Ukraine is actively implementing modern technologies to improve forest management, transparency and security, which contributes to the country's sustainable development.

Digitalization has had a significant impact on the forestry sector in Ukraine, becoming an integral part of new approaches to the management and conservation of natural resources. Modern technologies implemented in this area contribute to more efficient management and control of processes in forests, as well as protection of these areas from threats of the so-called human factor and natural disasters.

Improving management efficiency and transparency of processes

New technological tools have become an important part of the forestry infrastructure. Automation systems that are constantly evolving make it possible to more accurately assess the condition of forests, monitor their growth and changes in condition, and predict possible risks. All this is made possible by using data analysis systems based on satellite and aerial photography, as well as various types of sensors.

One of the main achievements in the digitalization of forestry is the increased transparency of all processes. New systems allow for open access to data on the state of forests and the results of their processing, which allows the public to monitor the industry and reduces the possibility of abuse. This is an important step in the fight against illegal activities such as illegal logging and poaching.

Changes in approaches to forestry in Ukraine also focus on forest conservation. Thanks to new technologies, the administration of forest lands can more quickly identify problem areas, develop and implement conservation plans. The use of digital tools avoids inefficient use of resources and reduces the cost of their processing.

In addition, video surveillance systems allow for continuous monitoring of the territories, which significantly increases the level of security and reduces the risk of dangerous situations, such as fires or littering.

The company has already installed 125 video surveillance systems in Volyn and Rivne regions, which have significantly increased the level of control and security. Such systems not only help to quickly detect missed dangers, but also help to prevent violations at the stage of their occurrence. This, in turn, allows for a quick response to threats and prevents significant losses.

Digitalization leads to improved management of forestry resources and increased opportunities for integrating the latest technologies into daily operations. Thanks to an integrated approach based on the combination of modern technologies with traditional methods, Ukraine is making a significant step towards sustainable development in the forestry sector.

Thus, the implemented digital changes can significantly strengthen forest management and become the basis for the sustainable development of this important industry for the country. Further implementation of innovations in this area will not only preserve but also increase the natural resources of Ukraine, making them a means of sustainable economic development.
