The Ziegler Group, known for its traditional carpentry work, has taken a decisive step towards rescuing itself from insolvency. With the conclusion of a purchase agreement with a strategic investor, the future of the company is now on a firmer footing.
Volker Böhm from the law firm Schultze & Braun, who was appointed insolvency administrator for Zimmerei Ziegler, recently completed the sale of Zimmerei Ziegler to FoWaTec GmbH. FoWaTec GmbH, a construction company based in Wangen im Allgäu with a focus on unusual construction projects, is thus taking over the entire business operations of the carpentry firm. One pleasing aspect of this takeover is that not only will the Wiesau-Schönhaid site be retained, but all 28 employees will also be able to keep their jobs.
FoWaTec has made a name for itself particularly through its expertise in complex timber constructions. This specialization fits perfectly with the traditional craftsmanship of Ziegler Zimmerei, so that the merger is considered strategically sensible by industry experts. The combination of innovative construction projects and traditional craftsmanship could set new standards in the industry and further strengthen FoWaTec's market position.
In addition to the takeover of the carpentry business, another part of the Ziegler Group, Ziegler Modulbau, was placed under the wing of a new owner. Herwig Kohla, the former managing director of this division, has taken over Ziegler Modulbau together with a group of investors from Austria. In future, this branch of the company will operate under the name Holzwerk Naila GmbH.
This takeover also includes the preservation of the site in Naila, as well as the continuation of jobs for the approximately 55 employees. BGK Holding GmbH has assumed responsibility for this site. The restructuring process and the associated transfer of operations are to be completed in mid-February.
The integration of Ziegler Modulbau into Holzwerk Naila GmbH promises a continuation and expansion of the existing modular construction projects. This opens up new opportunities, particularly in the area of sustainable and modular construction methods, which are becoming increasingly important in the construction industry. With the planned switch to more sustainable construction concepts and more efficient production methods, the company could establish itself as a pioneer in the field of modular construction.
The strategic takeovers and realignments in the Ziegler Group show how companies can emerge stronger from insolvency through targeted measures. The precautions taken by the new owners give both employees and customers hope and inspire positive curiosity about future developments.
