The second quarter of 2025 saw a significant increase in demand for timber in Ukraine. The forestry enterprises belonging to the structure of the Forests of Ukraine sold 723 thousand cubic meters of wood in just two weeks. This brought in revenues of UAH 3 billion, which is twice as much as the sales figures for the same period in 2024. This rapid growth has attracted interest from both domestic consumers and international partners, who see Ukraine as an important market for timber.
The timber market in Ukraine is showing signs of recovery, which will undoubtedly strengthen the position of the economy as a whole. Since the beginning of the second quarter of 2025, timber trading has picked up again. The first two weeks of this quarter were successful, as the volume of products sold increased significantly. This indicates positive dynamics in the market, which is gradually recovering from the crisis and adapting to new conditions.
The successful start of the auction also indicates the high interest of market participants in concluding deals, which is an important signal for anyone interested in investing in the woodworking industry. Economic experts see this as a chance for further growth, given the stable level of demand in both domestic and foreign markets.
In terms of regional contribution, Volyn and Rivne regions were the leaders in terms of timber sales. Their combined result is almost 2 billion hryvnias, which is a significant contribution to the overall success among other regions. The impressive results of these regions can be attributed to effective resource management and the presence of powerful enterprises specializing in wood processing.
Activity in these markets can be attributed to the location of forests, which makes these regions key players in the Ukrainian timber market. Growing demand from Europe and international partners is also pushing them to increase production and export opportunities.
Along with Volyn and Rivne regions, other regions of the country, such as Vinnytsia and Cherkasy regions, have not been left behind. The active participation of these regions in the auction resulted in sales of timber products worth more than half a billion hryvnias, which indicates an overall positive trend in the market. This is a good sign for potential investors, who may consider the woodworking industry as an attractive investment.
