Yuriy Bolokhovets, Director General of the State Enterprise "Forests of Ukraine", visited Chernihiv region with an important mission - to discuss the investment program for the development of forestry in the region. This is in the context of growing attention to the positive development of infrastructure and economic opportunities in the region.
The meeting, which took place as part of the working visit, was attended by prominent figures from the forestry sector and regional authorities. Among them were Janne Harjunpää, member of the Supervisory Board of the State Enterprise "Forests of Ukraine", Vyacheslav Chaus, Head of Chernihiv Regional State Administration, and Viktor Smalem, Head of the State Agency of Forest Resources of Ukraine. This powerful team aimed to agree on the steps and priorities of investments to ensure the sustainable development of the region.
The main item on the agenda was the allocation of significant funds for the development of forestry in Chernihiv region. The State Enterprise "Forests of Ukraine" plans to invest UAH 200 million this year. This amount is aimed at improving the infrastructure and increasing the economic efficiency of forestry operations.
The investment program includes two key areas: construction of new forest roads and reconstruction of existing ones. The construction of new roads is important to facilitate access to forest areas, which is a critical element for the efficiency and cost reduction of timber transportation. The reconstruction of existing roads involves their modernization, which improves load capacity and reduces the cost of maintaining roads in good condition.
The economic effect of this program is significant. According to representatives of the State Enterprise "Forests of Ukraine", each new kilometer of forest road allows the company to save about 350 thousand hryvnias annually. This means that the investments not only improve the infrastructure, but also provide significant savings that will be used for further development of the sector.
