The EGGER Group continues its growth strategy with the acquisition of the plant in Markt Bibart, Germany. The purchase agreement was signed on 8 September 2023, allowing EGGER to strengthen its position in the German market through its own performance.
The plant in Markt Bibart has facilities for producing raw chipboard, with a capacity of up to 650,000 manually. Rauch's furniture plants will continue to receive supply even after the takeover by EGGER. Additionally, EGGER sees great opportunities to expand its business model in Germany by supplying fixed dimension boards to customers.
EGGER aims for a rapid integration of the Rauch chipboard plant into its group, and is evaluating the first investment projects at the location. All 195 employees of the Rauch chipboard plant will be retained by EGGER at the time of the closing. EGGER believes that with the experience of the local staff, both companies will successfully develop the Markt Bibart plant in the long term.
CEO of the Rauch Group, Rainer Hribar, believes that the EGGER Group can leverage the potential of the Markt Bibart location, allowing Rauch to fully focus on the further development of its furniture plants. The takeover does not affect Rauch Group's furniture plants that remain separate from the acquisition.
Subject to approval by cartel law authorities, the chipboard plant in Markt Bibart will be the 22nd production plant of the EGGER Goup. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price and other details of the transaction. EGGER is set to expand its production capacity through this acquisition, further strengthening its position in the German market.
