Conlegno launches roadshow in 2025 for sustainable wood management and the enhancement of "green mines"

Short: Conlegno's roadshow aims to discuss the future availability of wood and promote responsible forest management practices by crisscrossing Italy with six meetings from North to South.

Conlegno, a leading consortium promoting biodiversity and forest conservation, is preparing a major event for 2025. This roadshow, in its spirit of education and awareness raising, asks a fundamental question, "Will there be enough wood in the future?" The event aims to explore and discuss ways to learn about, value and certify this essential resource, aiming for sustainable forest management.

The central theme of the roadshow focuses on the sustainable management of wood as a raw material. Through a series of meetings to be held throughout Italy, Conlegno wants to promote not only the enhancement of Italy's forestry heritage, but also the proper use of wood to ensure the preservation of biodiversity. The first of the meetings is scheduled for March 28, 2025, in Carlentini, in the province of Syracuse.

The value of Italy's "green mines"

Conlegno's initiative is not simply an invitation to reflect on the future availability of wood; it is also a call for the valorization of Italy's "green mines." This term is intended to refer to those woods in the country that are currently not fully exploited and whose potential remains vastly underutilized. Emphasis is placed on the importance of management that is environmentally friendly and able to combine economy and sustainability.

For more than 20 years, Conlegno has been active in the sector, tirelessly dedicating itself to the protection of the forest heritage and the promotion of biodiversity. This roadshow is a further step toward public education and awareness with respect to the importance of implementing responsible and effective forestry practices.

The tour will cross the entire country, with six meetings designated to cover the territory from North to South. At these events, experts in the field will discuss innovative practices and approaches for optimal management of forest resources. The goal is twofold: to stimulate in-depth discussion on these crucial issues and to disseminate best practices to support both the environment and the economy.

The importance of the Conlegno roadshow lies, therefore, in its ability to serve as a platform for dialogue and exchange. Through sharing experiences and knowledge, it aims to create a network of responsible stewardship that can positively influence the future of our forests.
