The state enterprise "Forests of Ukraine" begins selling surplus industrial firewood with additional services for foreign buyers. According to information published in their official message on Facebook and reported by Ukrinform, they offer services such as delivery from a warehouse, loading wagons and customs clearance of products for non-resident companies.
As a result of the end of the heating season, state forestry enterprises have accumulated surplus fuel wood, mainly industrial firewood. Prices for these products decreased from 1350 to 950 hryvnia per cubic meter compared to last year. Despite a significant drop in prices, the Ukrainian market is not able to absorb all the wood, so some resources are put up for auction for foreign buyers.
For now, only industrial firewood made from pine is available for trading. Both Ukrainian and foreign companies can participate in the auction under the same conditions. The State Enterprise states that the volume of wood is sufficient to meet the needs of Ukrainian producers and buyers.
In 2023, the total volume of logging in Ukraine amounted to 15.7 million cubic meters, of which 13.1 million cubic meters were harvested by state forestry enterprises.
