In the Novoukrainsky district of the Kirovohrad region, the court decided to return 33 hectares of forestry land to state ownership. The cost of this plot is estimated at over 180 million hryvnias.
This was reported by the spokeswoman of the regional prosecutor's office, Olesya Panchenko, in a comment for Suspilny. She said that this plot of land was in permanent use by the "Onykiiv Forestry" branch of the "Forests of Ukraine" enterprise. However, it was erroneously included in the agricultural lands of the communal property of the Tyshkiv village council of the Novoukrainian district and leased.
"Representatives of the Onykiiv Forestry requested the return of these lands to the prosecutor's office. The court found the decision to approve the land management documentation and the lease of the land to be illegal," Panchenko said.
She also noted that no damage was done to the plot of land.
Village head of Tyshkiv village council Ivan Zavalko explained that these lands are almost completely forested, and the community did not use them for agricultural purposes.
"In 2010, these lands were transferred from communal ownership to the ownership of the village community. Since then, they have not been used, and gradually became afforested," Zavalko noted.
He also added that he does not know who and for what reason transferred these lands to the ownership of the community, as it happened before his appointment. The rural community did not object to the return of these lands to foresters.
