More than 150 exhibitors from eight countries showcased their latest offers at the EKO-LAS exhibition of forestry, woodworking industry, and environmental protection. Held on September 7-9 in Mostki, Poland, the event had thousands of visitors, and thousands of experts on hand. This exhibition is a significant business platform for the forest industry all over Poland, covering 23 hectares of Swiebodzin Forestry.
The vice-president of the board of Grupa MTP, Philip Bittner, observed that Poland ranks seventh among wood exporters globally, behind Canada and the USA. According to him, the primary importers of Polish wood are Germany and China. Vice-voivode of Lubusz Voivodeship, Olimpia Tomczyk-Ivko, commended the country’s forestry system as one of the best in the world. She also emphasized that the Polish woodworking industry accounts for more than 3% of GDP.
Exhibitors from Poland and other countries, including Germany, Lithuania, and Scandinavian nations displayed machines, devices for processing wood and transporting on the 3km-long inspection route. The organizers of EKO-LAS exhibition unveiled cutting-edge technologies for these purposes as well. Additionally, every day saw harvester and forwarder demonstrations in the forest wherein visitors watched the automation at the site. This made it easy for exhibitors to combine good sound with great food to display the efficiency of their working machines.
As usual, the exhibition held a plethora of events that included a 4th Polish Championship of forwarder operators held on September 8, 2023. The event demonstrated the efficiency and precision of forwarder operators from Poland, using the finest brands like John Deere, Komatsu, Ponsse, and Rottne. Visitors to the show got a great view of Poland’s best forwarder competitions while nestled comfortably in seating tribunes.
The EKO-LAS exhibition arranged demonstrations with many arborists to increase awareness of forest protection amongst visitors. The show held a woodcarving competition and a seminar organized by the regional directorate of Lasów Państwowych. This seminar concentrated on future forest education and delved into topics related to forest engineering.
