Sawn timber exports down 11%
In the first half of the year, Germany exported 4.93 million m³ of sawn softwood and planed timber, 11% less than in the same period last year.
Beech lumber exports continue to decline
In the first half of the year Germany exported 178,500 m³ of beech sawn timber. This is 29% less than in the same period of the previous year. The market thus appears to be returning to the downward trend that has prevailed since 2018, and which was only halted in 2021. 46% of the exports went to the top 3 export countries China, USA and Poland.
