Over the span of a week, surveillance teams from various branches of the Polissia Forest Office, part of the State Enterprise "Forests of Ukraine," intercepted numerous instances of unlawful logging. They uncovered instances of forest violations amounting to a total loss exceeding 800,000 UAH. This information was disclosed by the Polissia Forest Office.
In cases of smaller scale violations, offenders have already paid fines contributing to local budgets. For more severe infractions, where criminal activity is suspected, pertinent evidence has been handed over to law enforcement agencies, and investigations are ongoing.
The most significant incident of the week was identified in the Rivne region, specifically within the territories managed by the "Rafalivske Forest Enterprise." Illegal logging in the Tseptsevychi forestry resulted in damages amounting to 646,800 UAH. Pursuant to Article 246 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the case has been linked to the Unified State Register of Pre-trial Investigations (ERDR). The investigation is in progress.
Employees of the "Rokytnivske Forest Enterprise" reported two instances of illegal logging. Meanwhile, a surveillance team from the "Rafalivske Forest Enterprise" thwarted an attempt to steal finished timber. The incident was reported to the police, and investigative actions are underway.
Reports were also filed by staff members of the Vysoke and Klesiv branches. Timely detection of these forest violations in these instances prevented substantial losses.
During a joint operation with the police, the "Klesivske Forest Enterprise" identified an unauthorized felling in the Chabelskyi forestry. The cumulative estimated losses amounted to nearly 36,000 UAH.
