There is practically no competition in the premium segment of the Ukrainian custom-made furniture market. There are only a few companies that work in it, which are engaged in the manufacture of furniture to individual orders. Borys Pylypenko, co-owner of the Kassone furniture workshop in the capital, told about this in an interview with LIGA.net.
"You can enter this market, but you need to work a lot. And you also need to be able to communicate between everyone - the team, customers. We focus on the top level of products. For this, in addition to equipment, we need many more components. We need to pay a lot of attention to quality . Our employees always check the previous stage of work and will never pass the defect on. That's why our market segment is probably three more companies besides us,"
Such manufacturers work with expensive types of wood: oak, walnut, wenge, combining these materials with glass, brass and metal. Custom-made furniture can have a very different price range, which depends on the complexity of the design, materials and time spent on production. The cost of products varies from $5,000 to $100,000.
Clients have the opportunity to order both a single interior item and a complex arrangement of the entire living space, be it an apartment or a house. For example, in 2021, the Kassone workshop produced furniture for one of the villas in the Kyiv region.
