According to the Swedish Forest Agency, the delivery timber prices for both sawlog and pulpwood in Sweden increased during Q2 2023 compared to Q1 2023. The sawlog price rose by 3%, and pulpwood prices increased by almost 6%.
The sawlog prices in Norra Norrland and Svealand regions saw the greatest increase by 1%, while the prices in Götaland and Södra Norrland remained unchanged. On the other hand, Norra Norrland had the highest pulpwood price increase of 13%, while Södra Norrland, Svealand, and Götaland increased by 5%.
The roundwood prices continue to rise, and a comparison with the same quarter last year shows an overall increase in sawlog prices by 9%. Svealand had the highest regional increase in sawlog prices by 12%, while Norra and Södra Norrland and Götaland increased by 9%. In addition, pulpwood prices had increased by 40% compared to Q2 2022. The highest increase was in Svealand with almost 55%, followed by Södra Norrland and Götaland with approximately 46% and 33%, respectively. Norra Norrland had a 31% increase in pulpwood prices.
