On September 11, 2023, Poznań (Poland) will host the 10th KOOPDREW Woodworking Industry Congress 2023. The theme of the event will be opportunities and threats for the forestry and woodworking industries in the coming years. The Polish-Ukrainian forestry forum will also be held as part of the event.
According to the organizers of the event, for Poland, Ukrainian woodworking enterprises have always played a significant role as one of the key economic partners.
The tragic war in Ukraine causes many losses and problems for the woodworking and forestry industries. Undoubtedly, this is an extremely difficult period, which is a challenge for both Ukrainian and international entrepreneurs working in this field.
The current situation in Ukraine leads to a reduction in production, transport and trade. This not only affects the flow of goods, but also causes logistical, legal and economic difficulties. In the context of these challenges, there is a need for a thorough analysis of the impact of the war on the Ukrainian forestry sector and on foreign partners such as Poland.
It is very important to monitor the current situation and forecast future scenarios for the forest sector in Ukraine, say the organizers of KOOPDREW 2023. This includes understanding the impact of the war on the supply chain, lumber prices and general market conditions. Undoubtedly, there is also a need to identify possible areas of support and opportunities for cooperation that can contribute to the stabilization and reconstruction of the Ukrainian forest sector after the end of the conflict.
Any actions in this matter should be aimed at protecting the commercial interests of all parties, long-term stabilization and assistance in restoring the normal economy of Ukraine. In the international context, this issue also becomes part of a larger discourse on peace, cooperation and reconstruction in the region.
It is reported that representatives of UEB, SE "Forests of Ukraine", Ukrainian woodworking associations, etc., will take part in the event from Ukraine.
Also, KOOPDREW 2023 will consider a number of other relevant issues for the woodworking industry, in particular Industry 4.0 as an opportunity for the development of woodworking companies. The participants of the event will receive reports on modern methods of selling wood and measuring methods, mechanization trends in Finnish forestry companies, effective robotics and its possibilities. Forestry and the woodworking industry, prospects and forecasts will also be considered, in particular the current situation and prospects of the woodworking and furniture industry in Poland. External factors such as changes in consumer trends, environmental regulations (especially of the European Union), technological innovations and global challenges related to the sustainable management of natural resources will not be ignored by the participants.
